Partnering in Protection
On June 21, 2007 The Nature Conservancy's Nevada and California Chapters announced they had completed a major land acquisition in the Truckee watershed, including seven riverfront miles and 3,200 acres of forestlands.

TNC and its partners have long been working to turn the tide back in the Truckee River's favor.Last fall, after more than a decade of quiet and steady progress, we literally turned the Truckee, when the river's flow was redirected into a new channel at TNC's McCarran Ranch.

TNC scientists and trustees recently updated the Nevada Chapter's strategic plan, identifying Nevada's 21 highest priority landscapes and committing TNC resources to protecting 12 of those by 2015.
