A Unique Adventure on Montana's
Rocky Mountain Front
The Nature Conservancy's Pine Butte Guest Ranch is not your typical dude ranch. Sure, you can ride horses, swim in our pool and enjoy cookouts and tales around the campfire. You can also get up close and personal with this magnificent country in a very special way. That's because along with our ace wranglers, we also have naturalists on staff and a unique offering of natural history workshops. And you can't beat our classroom. This is muddy boots learning -- in the field with binoculaurs in hand. There's a bounty of wildflowers, birds and other wildlife all around. We won't guarantee that you'll see a grizzly bear (at a safe distance of course!) but this is one of the few places outside of Alaska where they still roam and you're bound to see plenty of evidence that they're around.
The Pine Butte Guest Ranch exists on the strong foundations of the Circle 8 Ranch, owned and operated by Kenneth and Alice Gleason from 1930 to 1978. The Nature Conservancy takes great pride in carrying on the Gleason's Circle 8 tradition of hospitality, comfort and friendliness as well as respect for the magnificent country that surrounds the ranch. Today, the Pine Butte Guest Ranch is owned and operated by The Nature Conservancy, an international nonprofit conservation organization committed to the global preservation of natural diversity. All proceeds from the guest ranch are used to support the work of The Nature Conservancy of Montana.
